Our Staff

Patrick, better known as “Paddy” Flanagan, serves as the preaching minister at Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ, where he has served since 2018 and has loved watching the church grow spiritually and numerically with each passing day. Before his work at Owens Cross Roads, Paddy served as the youth minister at Concord Road Church of Christ in Brentwood, TN, for eleven years.

Educationally, Paddy holds a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies from Freed Hardeman University, a Master of Ministry degree from Harding University, and just completed a Doctor of Ministry degree at Amridge University, where his dissertation studied the difference between administrative and shepherding leadership styles in the church.

Paddy's greatest earthly joy is his family. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Melissa (Gross), and they are blessed with two wonderful daughters. Paddy’s favorite pastime is playing with his daughters on their swing set or at the park. He also enjoys running ultra-marathons and has recently developed an interest in photographing distant galaxies and nebulae.

In short, Paddy loves God and God’s people and enjoys exploring  “His creation.”

Skyler Sexton started working with the youth ministry program here at Owens Cross Roads in Fall 2026. Skyler is originally from Franklin, Kentucky, and is a 2014 graduate of Freed-Hardeman University. There he met his beautiful wife, Bailey Hester from Madison, Alabama, and they have four amazing kids together: Sutton (10), Anderson (7), Lennon (5), and Elodie (5 months).

Along with his passion for working with students and their families for the last 10 years, Skyler serves on the board for Taylor Christian Camp and Revival Youth Ministers Retreat, and with Bailey co-operates Magnify Ministries.

Skyler’s mission for the youth group at Owens Cross Roads is to build a culture of loving the Lord with all our heart, soul, and might.  In addition to ministry and creating meaningful Christ-centered relationships, Skyler loves to spend time with his family, being outside (kayaking, hiking, camping), or enjoying a good movie!
